O I'm quite aware that more rifle has a .310 bore but have read many place that .308 can shoot accurately and do out of my rifle.

There is way more variety .308 bullets or the .310-.311 especially in bullets heavier the 123gr.
Don't I know it, about bullet variety!!
I handload for 4 different 7.62x 39's.
I just mentioned it as one more thing to try and get the best accuracy.

That's the biggest upside to this rifle.
It eats everything accurately. I'm so impressed I picked up the 5.56.

Bullet choices?
At one time, I had access to some Remington 125 grain soft points that had a measured diameter of 0.3095". I was shooting a couple of 7.62x39's--one with a .308 bore and one with a .310/311 bore. This Remington bullet did pretty well in both. I have no idea where the bullets came from or if they were a factory goof but they worked well and I still have most of a 2# peanut butter jar of them left. I seldom load 7.62x39 anymore since it's not a primary shooter. A couple dozen BELOM & Hornady factory loads are all that's needed to check zero and knock off a doe with the 7.62 AR pistol.

I have a Ruger American 7.62x39 I bought 3 years ago. Pre Covid prices. My rifle with Vortex Crossfire ll 6-18X44 scope shoots every Wolf brand ammo 1 1/8 inch groups at 100 yards. Does not matter what the bullet. I lucked out. Marty

They can be pushed to 2000 FPS. I find loads with unique the best for accuracy and the least deviation. 9 grains gave me an average of 1850 FPS.

That 9 grains of Unique cycles the action?
If so, I gotta try it!
I'm using 20 grains CFE Black for 2000 fps, the lowest amount that reliably cycles.

I haven't tried them yet but some time back, I got some of those with the 'cool kid' zombie green tips. They give the rounds a neat look.

Yeah 9 grains of unique wont produce enough gas to cycle a mini. I tried 15 grains of 2400 in my mini 14. No go with it either. It would move the bolt some. I could hear it clack. Lymans 51st has data for the berrys 123 grain .311.
