I may just rechamber a 300blk out to the AK round until then !....

What will the 7.62x39 offer in that package?

Ruger will suggest NOT to use steel case ammo, use brass only. People will use the steel anyway to unsatisfactory results and then complain that Ruger builds junk.

Quality brass cased 7.62x39 cost more than 300 BO.

IMO a 6.8SPC would be a better option.

I reload for all (3), so it is a wash for me.

Ruger can make it work for surplus. The 7.62x39 round is so popular in rural areas.
