Friend of mine is looking at the Ruger Air Hawk air rifle at Dick's. Are these worth the $120 asking price? Any known problems with them?

I'd think it would depend on your needs/expectations. Plinker...great. Target shooting...sure. Match gun...doubtful.
I'll proberly buy one just because. Only $150 after all.

He won't be shooting matches--just plinking and informal targets, I gather.

I have the AirHawk Elite with a 3-9X40 AO scope. It is a Ruger in name only. But still a great plinker and occasional vermin blaster. Mine came with an adjustable(great)trigger weighted muzzle compensator tuner gadget thing. I shoot the heck out of mine and other than being as loud as some 22LR rifles I have had no problems. But I don't have any great expectations, I believe I only paid $99.00 or $119.00 from the Sportsmansguide as a buyers club member.
