I have been chasing michigan whitetail with mine for 20 years. The only mechanical glitch I ever had happened last fall. The spring in the magazine came loose and left the magazine inoperable. Maybe pick up a few magazines while they are still readily available.

I have had a RUGER 96/44 for many years and have shot it a lot. And for the life of me all I can think of is for You to stock up on extra Mags. They are getting hard to find. I hope You enjoy your 96/44 as much as I have mine.

Color me jealous. I just got a 96/22mag, and would love to find a 96/44 to go with it. Congratulations on acquiring a fine rifle.

My buddy has a 96/17 he won't let go of . My next one I'm gonna try to get is a Deerfield.
