Hello, all.

I've been a Ruger fan for quite some time now, and I am proud of my Ruger collection. My latest in the collection is the little guy, 77/357-see attached pic, 3 shots at 50 yards. I plan to take it out 100 yards this spring to see how well she groups at that distance. I really like everything about this rifle.

Best,

Scott

I would be more than happy with those results myself. Glad you joined us on the forum!

I feel your pleasure. Those Barnes load are great. Shoot great out of my MGM 9" Encore barrel.

My 77/44 is also an awesome shooter. This is with my 240 grain XTP reloads. Does a little better with the 300 grain XTP's, but POI is about 5" apart.

The 357 is a better shooter for most folks especially off hand. The 44 recoil is so stout the bullet hasn't exited the barrel before you and the rifle are moving.

I have the 77/44 and love the rifle. So much so that I want to get the 77/357 as well, however I have struggled finding an optic that does not interfere with the bolt handle while cycling the action.

What scope are you using?

I use a Leupold 1X4 compact shotgun scope on my 77/44. Works good, has all the magnification I need. Also has a very wide field of view. Here's a pic of the rifle and scope, showing three shots on a steel target from 140 yards, prone position:
