I'm looking to research serial numbers in the Ruger 44 carbine series. I can't seem to find that info on Ruger.com. Not looking for info. on the Deerfield carbine. Just the older tube feed 44 carbine.

Did you try this one? I recently did to search my Deerstalker but the number didn't come up. I then sent a letter to Ruger with the carbine number and $10 and within a week or so I got the certificate delivered with all the relevant info. I don't know why this link couldn't do the same. Give it a go, maybe you'll have Better luck then me.

Yes, that link DOES work.
Put in your s/n and hit submit.
If your gun was made before 2000, select it's model from the drop down menu at the bottom of the same page. Select 44 Carbine.

If you still have no luck, I would suggest posting at least the first 4 or 5 digits (if you don't want to share the entire number) of the serial number here. I'm certain one of our members could give you an accurate estimate.

Ruger's serial number lookup page only includes numbers that are on digital files at Ruger. They will only go back to about 1982 "for some models", and some series don't get a good start on that lookup page until about 1986.
Before then you must reference Ruger's standard dates of manufacture pages or the Red Eagle News Exchange "Reference of Ruger Firearms".

Why should I have to Pay for something that Ruger could easily post in their serial number lookup? From other opinions from Ruger people, the serial # I'm looking up would likely be a 1990's production carbine #102-91×××.

Yes, I also found that through the Back Door. Strange that it does not show up directly on Ruger.com. serial number lookup?

Again, unless the records were digitized at the time they were entered in the books... the serial number will not show up on Ruger's serial number lookup webpage.
The earliest date I have found on that so far is from 1981, but even then, all model series' weren't digitized by then.

I have Super Blackhawk serial 4995.

Ruger's web site shows 1960.

I see:

1 1959
1521. 1960
6222. 1961
7659. 1962
… and so forth …

All the guns are there. Not sure why so many people don't see them.

See Post #4 above. Those instructions should get folks there.
