To paraphrase the old real estate phrase, "condition, condition, condition". There are also some regional variables, but a real pristine carbine here in the upper midwest will bring $500+. One that's been "rode hard and put away wet" will still bring $250, as long as it shoots.

Its tough, they are in demand... I've seen many of them sell for $750 (both models) even around here. I think a good price would be right around $500. My Deerfield isn't even for sale, but I don't think I'd take less than $800 for it.

I have a early 1962 standard carbine ser #597XX in slightly used condition I might part with. Has very little wear (almost none) on feed ramp this is usualy a good sign of use. PM me if interested....Bob

I finall found
and bought a 1971 dom
ruger 44 carbine, a little
stock wear around the knob
but not enough to refinish it.
