I;m having trouble with the button that releases the bolt when it locks open, the button really pushers hard to release the bolt. When the magazine in not in the release button is not hard at all to push down ,but when the magazine is in place then its hard to push the release button down.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

How hard is it to release when loading a round into the chamber from a loaded magazine?
When you have an unloaded magazine in the pistol, the magazine follower is pushing up on the slide stop. If it works with relative ease when loading a round from the magazine, I would say all is well.

Welcome to the Forum.
The above post helps answer it possibily.
I have found that some of the newer guns seem to be a lot harder to drop the bolt than used guns. A good internal cleaning of the action of factory grease,, and checking for serious burrs etc,, might help as well. We have a 22/45 MKII that was very stiff in releasing,, but it has gotten easier with use.

Thanks,I did do a good cleaning of the trigger before ,with a tooth bush
making sure that I did get all the grease .Cheated and watched a video on how to take apart and put togeather the 22/45. The loaded mag.,was the trick that worked .Being new to the semi autos.
This forum is like reading a newspaper with all the information one gets from it.Thanks again.

I think the owners manual suggests that you pull the bolt back before pushing the slide release lever. Makes it easier to operate and also reduces the wear where the bolt stop engages the bolt. On MKII's & III's, after you insert a loaded magazine with the bolt open, pulling the bolt back will automatically drop the slide release lever, not so on 22/45's.
