I'm thinking of getting a Ruger .17 but the Hunter will be nose heavy for a light recoiling revolver.

Did Ruger ever make the standard Single Six .17 HMR in Stainless?

I have a Hunter,, and haven't found it too heavy. And I know they made the regular .17 HMR,, in blue. Not sure if they have them in stainless,, but I THINK they may have.

I can't own blue guns, I can salt an ear of corn with my hands they're so salty. My dad owned guns for 50+ years, never oiled them and handled / shot them regularly and never rusted one.

I like the Hunter design because it's easily scoped where my FA in .17 is not. I guess I was wrong about the nose heavy issue because I based it on my 44 and .41 hunters.

Thanks!

Yes, they did. I've seen them in 5.5" and 6.5" barrels.

A couple of examples from "Completed Auctions" on GunBroker:

Psst,,,, gnappi,, if you come to the Gathering,, I'll let you shoot my .17 hunter.
I had planned on going and maybe bringing my Freedom Arms .17 but my Silverado just went into the shop to the tune of $1500+ and though I'd love to go, the prospects of my going got dim.
