Are these laminated rosewood or does the grain look like it does because of the way the wood was cut in relation to the grain? Do they cut some with the grain and some across the grain?

I can't see your picture?

But if the grain looks real even it's plywood, nice plywood, but plywood.

Best way to see the laminations is look at the bottom of the panels. This seems to be the new go-to wood for Ruger.
It is very stable.

See it on the new Bisleys/Cocobolo, Hunters/Grey, Single Six Hunter/ Black.
Most of the .357 Acusport Bisleys were Black, and some of the clean out Bisley Hunters were Black.

Here is a picture of the cocobolo/rosewood on a SSS I just aquired.
Picture of PLYWOOD.

OK, thanks, your pic enlightened me. The wood I was referring to looks like that and, as I surmised, is a laminate. I don't have a preference for one or the other, just curious.

The description says Rosewood not Laminated Rosewood.

...Jimbo

You are correct, However the grips pictured are Plywood/ laminate, rosewood.

I would say the rosewood refers to the simulated color and effect. JMHO

+1 on the laminate. As far as stability, not so good. I have a pair of silver/black that seem to have warped away from the grip frame on top of both grip panels. They are not as strong as real wood in my opinion.
