I have a Ruger P95 and the rod spring has come off of the rod. I now have two springs and what appears to be two washers. Is this something I can put back together myself or what? I am not sure exactly what happened as I was field stripping it to clean it and boing everything flew apart?

Yeah that happened to mine so many times I actually got rid of the
C-ring. If you look in the manual you will see there are 5 pieces to that
assemble.

1. Guide rod
2. Inner Spring
3. Outer Spring
4. (C ring)
5. Retaining Ring

You can reassemble it without the C-ring if you have the
recessed washer.

Insert Barrel
Place the Retaining Ring "washer" in the slide with recess facing forward.
Slide both springs on the guide rod.
Insert guide rod and springs into slide.
This can sometimes be difficult due to the slot cut out for the C ring.
Take your time and be sure the everything is aligned.
DON'T FORCE IT. It should go on with minimal effort.

P.S. the C-ring is not going to effect the function of the gun. It is simply to
aid in reassembly. (As far as I can tell.)

Just toss the c ring and retaining ring. They aren't needed for function but just to keep the springs captured. Just watch out what happens to them when you take the pistol apart.

When I first got my kp95d I took it to the range and put about 150 rnds of assorted ammo w/o a problem.Took it home for a cleaning and did not even realize it was a captured set up until I caught the a glimpse of it in the manual. The previous owner must have lost it.I think it is better this way as far as cleaning and lubing.

The same thing happened to me. I called Ruger and they sent me 2 or 3 of the little c rings at no charge. It can be a pain getting the shaft through the hole in the end to put it back in the slide.
