Rifle question but not a Ruger

I have an older Remington 760 pump action 30/06 in great shape. I would like to have it re-barreled to 35 Whelen. Has anyone ever done such a thing with a pump rifle? I may not find anyone who will do that for me since most gunsmiths around here re-barrel bolt guns only.

My advice would be to keep the Remy in 30/06 and look for one in Whelen. By the time you pay for a barrel job your going to have spent a lot of $$ and it won't be worth what you have in it. Whelen pumps are out there.
