Replacing barrels question

Can the barrel of a 1992 MKII Standard be replaced with a new MKIII Hunter 4.5" fluted barrel? Will it fit the MKII receiver without any problem? Thanks.

Your in the right spot but you could also post in the "rim fires long and short section" I think dan (Ruger guy) will have the answer.

Knowing that you have the barrel already, inhand....you need to get the old one "pulled" ( removed) and do NOT try or do this yourself,,,,,,check around in your locale, for a full service gun shop, and get a price, as all it needs is "R & R"....(remove and replace),,should be a fairly easy job for them.....it's the shipping to "who knows where" if you must send it out, and back and forth, will add up ,be more costly than what it's worth..the "overnight,next day air..." sucks, MORE than the cost of the job is my guess........

You might not "save money", but you'd have the tools for other projects...

I thought Kuhnhausen had a MkII manual, but I'm not sure. Just have to check the size & pitch before buying all the tooling and barrel.
