casper45, The procedure is the same for most of the P-series Ruger pistols. Once you have the gun "field stripped" with the slide off the frame, use a small jeweler's screwdriver to "flex" the extractor outward until it will move forward and out. With the safety levers in the off-safe position, use the same screwdriver with masking tape on the tip to pry the "right" safety lever outward. Keep a finger tip below the safety lever to "catch" the plunger and spring! Turn the "left" safety lever to a little past the on-safe position and remove it toward the left. Restrain the firing pin and spring as you do the "last" step as it will be released when the left safety lever comes out. That's it! Re-assembly is in the reverse direction of the above procedure..............................Dick :wink:
