Are 44 and 45 Redhawk cylinders the same length? I'm going to get one or the other in ss and the 44s seem to cost less by enough that it would cover the cost of rechambering.

Talking about the cost of rechambering 'evening' things up I'm assuming you are talking about the 5.5" or 7.5" versions. Even then, rechambering isn't that cheap. You're looking at the cost of the cylinder work and the barrel reboring and remarking. I'd say you'll be in the neighborhood of $500-600 for this, give or take. Those .45's can run a premium now, but not THAT much over the .44's. They are scarce, though....

I believe there is still a 5.5" .45 on Gunbroker at the moment.

It'll sport a custom barrel I found today so I'm anxious to get a gun to use it on, depending on the cylinder lengths. One 44 on GB is one I may get.

Well, that definitely changes things. Another thing to remember is that the ejector star in a .44 Mag cylinder is smaller than .45 cylinder. Doesn't grab as much rim (circumference) as a .45 Colt one.

The .44 cylinder is blued, but stainless ones are the same.
