I have had my RL for 20 years but have not fired it that much. I hunt 3 days each year in SD. I asked a gunsmith if I should have the trigger mechanisms cleaned. He didn't think so and said all he does is to rinse it with solvent and relube it. What do you think?

Also.... once every few years you should remove the ejectors and clean & lube the springs.

I've had the stock off exactly one time in seven years. Still looked like new but I only shoot skeet and sporting clays with mine. I really can't see a reason for it unless you are hunting in the rain or wet snow. Then I would probably take it apart and clean it. If you do though, pay attention to the sticker under the recoil pad. Do not overtighten the stock bolt or you could crack it :(
