Gentlemen:
I have a few questions about this shotgun.
First, I'd like to get an idea of its value. The serial # is 48xx.
Second one is, can anyone tell me the year of mfg.
It has been fired but I believe it to be in 98/99 % condition.
No picture to show just now.
Thanks.

A gun show about a month ago a guy was trying to sell me his for $1100. It had box and all paperwork. It was a nice package.

If you serial number is 400-048xx, then it appears to have been manufactured in 1979.

Is it choked SK-SK or IC-MOD?

mine is a early 400-033xx IC-MOD.
It seems to me there were more of the SK/SK as I see them for sale often.
I really enjoy mine, but they are a tad on the heavy side.
Check it over closely as Ruger does not support them anymore.

I see nice condition guns fs from 1000-1800, probably not much help, but currently the firearm market is all over the place.

Thank you for your reply. I had bought the gun in about 1981/ 82.
I've looked on Gun Broker for some guidance but prices were all over the place.

Yes SK/SK.
I hunted pheasants over a dog with it. It was like hitting them with a fly swatter.

I just picked this one up, made in 1978 for the low end of what was mentioned

Gun Broker completed sales section shows several early 20's selling in the range of $12 - $1700.

I never go by what folks ask for a gun in an add, always do an advanced search & look at completed sales.

I have the exact same 20 ga. Red Label, except I have three of them, one in each of the fixed chokes offered. Very hard to find the values as The Blue Book of Gun Values only shows the 20 ga. Red Label shotguns with fixed chokes in a stainless steel receiver, not blued steel.
