I have an AR15 .223/5.56 with a 1:7 twist that I bought for a SHTF gun. It has the typical raised front sight with an MBUS rear peep. I shot it for the 1st time last Sunday after owning it for about 4 years. I was good at 50 yds. Off to the 100 meter range. You're kidding me, right? I need a bigger boat (sight). Scopes are out. I'm looking at all the red dots and their reviews. My head aches. Everything leads me to the Aimpoint PRO Patrol Rifle Optic...but the price--$437  http://www.amazon.com/Aimpoint-PRO-Patrol-Rifle-Optic/dp/B007GDR0I4
I've got my eye on the Burris Fastfire III for $200. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007I9D8QE/ref=as_li_tl?tag=opticsden-20&ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B007I9D8QE&linkCode=as2&linkId=MJU6U42JHUYQH63N
I like the Aimpoint 2MOA dot, the Burris is 3MOA which is fine. Anything else I should look at that's a good bang for the buck?
I shot 160 rds. of PMC 55 gr. FMJ's without a hitch. Reloading is out right now because I'm going thru physical therapy for my right shoulder. With the 1:7 twist, are the 62 gr. bullets a better choice than the 55 gr's.?
I'm new to AR's, so I'm sure I'll have more questions. I already want to get rid of that std. front sight.
Thanks!
