Rear sight options Mini 14 Ranch

Waffling between a better rear sight or a red dot on my early Ranch rifle. From searching thru the forum it looks like Tech Sight is the preferred rear sight. Are there other options?

is it possible to change the sights on an older mini 14?

I got a good deal on an old Mini-14 from a friend so I took it. It was in excellent condition but the only reservation I had was that it didn't have the same style sights as the new Mini (the Garand look). From checking the serial number, its from 1983. It has one single blade for front sight...

NECG also makes a sight that will clamp onto the scope ring cutout.

I ended up with the Tech Sights.
