They do a great job bluing but be prepared for the unexpected. Here's a picture of a standard they did for me. I had to clean the bluing off the bolt and whoever prepped it for bluing got a little carried away rounded off the collar on the front of the barrel so it looks a little odd.
yikes, now that is scary........almost wants to make ME come out of retirement....NOW that MK II is NOT acceptable, sorry..........wow

you gotta call them and ask try and get a quote, they like to say" we have to see it first to evaluate and quote a price, liked it better in the old days when the "refinish" prices were posted (listed), but with all the "other" BS, shipping, some dealers love to charge a "transfer" or other such "fees", taxes on service, and on and on.......all my guys are dead ,gone and me and Walter ( me anyway) are retired, his shop 'closed due to the owners death, and all his "stuff", tanks and machinery is in storage the past few years and he is older than me!!

I bought an old 3-screw .357 Magnum Blackhawk (circa 1969) that had the recall done (and was missing the original parts) from a friend of a friend that had been seriously neglected and had a bulged barrel. Aside from the bulge there was rust and a lot of missing bluing, but otherwise it was mechanically sound. I replaced the barrel with a $42 one from Ebay, now I had a total of $92 invested in it if that gives you an idea of how bad it looked. I was going to just store it under the seat of my truck for emergencies, but it had so much potential and shot so good I had to try something to make it more presentable.
I ordered a bottle of Brownell's Oxpho-Blue Creme and went to work with sandpaper and steel wool. I'm still working on it, but I've finished the entire barrel, hammer and cylinder. I followed the directions on the bottle with the exception of heating it up with a heat gun to almost too warm to handle with my bare hands before applying the bluing. I have to tell you; this stuff did a great job. It went on easy and dark and seems to be very durable. I've heard some people claim it wears off easily, but a couple of times I had to redo some I screwed up and the Oxpho-Blue was just as hard to remove as the original bluing. And if the bluing does wear away, you can easily dab on a little leftover bluing and blend it right in.
The grip frame is aluminum alloy, as is the ejector shroud. I bought a can of DuraCoat semi-gloss black engine paint at Oreilly's that I plan to use on those. I'll try to do a before and after thread with pics when it's all done.
