Excuse if this is old hat, but I was just wondering if the RCBS carbide sizer will size tight enough for .451-2" bullets. Found a recently manufactured used one to replace my .454" Lee carbide sizer that's been giving me fits.....TIA, Dennis (Who already knows of the ACP trick for Lee dies, thanks)

I've been using the RCBS .45 Colt die set for about three years now and have zero problems. I've loaded .451 (Hornady XTP) .452 (Speer LSWC) and some .454 (Hornady "Cowboy") plus several others. I think you'll be fine with the RCBS die. Gerry

Some Lee .45colt dies don't size the case enough to properly grip .451-.452 bullets. Substituting a .45acp lee sizing die will give the case proper neck tension.

I had that problem with .45 Colt Lee Dies. They sent me a .45ACP sizing die I've been using for yrs now.

The only problem i have had with the RCBS dies is with new Starline brass. I found i had to use the lube pad to roll about every 7-8 rounds or it got tough to use. Also have to hand prime the first batch also as the Starline brass is a little tighter, after the first loading they are all right though.
Other than that, the dies are great and no probs.
