I stumbled onto a pair of older? Walnut Ruger Bisley grips and I put them on my KBN-455X which now (temporarily) sports a SS Bisley grip frame, and it made me wonder when did Ruger start making the laminated grips and stop the walnut type?

Actually, there was a very long period at the end of the walnut grip era, where Ruger made grips from Rosewood, which was whatever tropical wood they could get to look like red or orange walnut for less cost. They thought folks wouldn't notice much. There were huge color swings.

Anything here help? I know it's about frames but …..

A bit but it showed the first laminated grips in 1992 but not when the laminated grips were phased in and the solid wood was discontinued.
