I was giving a couple of my recently acquired OMs a good cleaning and noticed an "S" on the face of the cylinders.

Does anyone know what the "S" means?

Thanks.

Bob

Thanks t-wheelgunner. I'm pretty new to Rugers so I thought I would ask the question.

Yes, S is stamped on the centerfire cylinders after proof loads are tested in all the individual chambers.

The rimfires are not proofed but they are still "function fired".
