Question about Ruger Grips

I was hoping someone could tell me what these grips are.
I know they are for a Ruger single action , but that is about it.

The white ones are actually a nice set of grips.
They look at little yellow in the picture , but they are white.
The back is marked ( I believe ) .

Ruger
Convertible Frame
RX3 RED Frame ( I always thought it was XR3 Red ).
357 Magnum
and a number 61

The black ones have the Eagle with SR on it.
One has been repaired ( not real good ).
Putting them back to back with the white ones , they match up perfectly.

Any way , what do they fit and are they any good ?

The white ones are vintage Ajax, The quality was nice back then, Ajax is still around but IMO not what they used to be. Nice vintage grips. The black liner was to help strengthen the soft white. They made a lot of the same grips in Pearl. Popular in the 70's.

The Black ones are the new plastic grips that Ruger uses, cheap. Those appear to have a little curve to the back strap are for the standard Blackhawk/ Single Six what is most common known as XR3-RED.
The repair looks like the common over tightened the screw… oooops.

Yes, those Ajax grips were really nice ones back in "the day".

You are right, the XR3-RED is correct. The RX3-RED is an Ajax part # not a Ruger #.

Those grips fit Single Six and Blackhawk single actions from 1973 to the present. They also fit all the Old Army blackpowder models, original Vaqueros (pre 2005), and Super Blackhawks with 5 1/2" barrel or shorter.

They will not fit pre 1973 guns, New Vaqueros, or the new Flat Top Blackhawks.

I think the wood backed white one are actually Jay Scott, used to be part of the Colt Industries group.............

Yup the white ones are Jay Scott. Have some Ajax and they didn't have the backing like the Jay Scott
