I have a Ruger MKII 22/45 with a 5 1/2 inch bull barrel. Can I buy a standard MKII lower for it? I really like some of the custom wood grips some of the competition pistols have.

I know it's not the serials part but I've never seen them for sale anywhere.

Also, does it have to be a MK II lower or would an MK III lower work too?

Thanks guys.

Well, in general, you can swap around upper recievers & lower recievers SOMETIMES. Actually most of the time you can do it. It all has to do with the fit of the barrel lug & how it mates up. I've seen some do it easily & others not at all. But it does get done often.

Does anyone sell the lowers though? I'm really liking some of those Volquartsen Custom wood grips for the MK II's and III's.

I see 'em pass through GunBroker. I'd look for a Stainless one on there or one of the other auction places or put a WTB here in the Classifieds Section.
