I went to look at it myself.
Looks reblued to me.
It’s sporting a high gloss blue and the letters don’t seem real sharp. Oh well.
I guess that’s why it’s only $800

Could also serve as a great donor gun for a project with Linebaugh et al due to the longer cylinder frame or convert to 414 or 375 SuperMag.

A good looking shooter grade Maxi for $800 is a fair buy. Many of the Maxi's did enjoy a bit of a glossier blueing,, so it MIGHT have been factory. (Disclaimer; I didn't see it,,, so I do not know. :D )

I went back and put money on it.
I’m still unsure about the bluing.
I’m used to Rugers having a lower luster blue.
See what you think.
The roll marks on the frame are crisper than the appear in the pic.
It does have a unlabeled box and manual but no shipper.

I looked at it and expaneded the pictures and looked at where the pins are and didn't see any "dishing" of the holes and then looked at where the barrel went into the frame and around the frame where there are sharp transitions and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Then I pulled my Maxi out of the safe and my Maxi has a pretty nice higher than normal polish to it (as compared to the newer models. Remember, when these were made, Ruger did things a bit different and the revolvers comiong out then were typically pretty nice looking.

$800 for that gun is a good price in my opinion.

Well now I’m having second thoughts.
The gun may have been reblued. But with Hindi’s post it seems more than likely.
When I originally posted on it, I was relying on a friends description.
If it is reblued, LNIB is not applicable to me.
The box is unlabeled so it quite possibly isn’t the original box.
There is no shipper. The tag was sloppily written and reads box and papers. Not shipper.
Now I’m having my doubts.
Did I screw up?
