Greetings all,
I have owned Ruger P series for quite some time now, my first being a P89. I have owned a couple P90's, the TH and SS modles, but it has been some time ago. Anyway, looking at getting my head on straight and getting a new P90 SS. A local shop has one for $409.00 plus tax. What is your informed opinion as far as price goes?

Thanks,
Chris

Prices in two shops in my area are in the $425.00+ range
for a new KP90.
I also own KP90s, and, from time to time, like to see
what they are currently retailing for.

I agree. In fact $425 for the stainless is probably better than reasonable, in my opinion. I've tracked the PP90DW (Decock) blued model used prices for a while. The decock seems to be the most in demand and they don't show up all that often. The tracked prices are for guns represented as 95% or better, adjusted for two mags, no distinction on boxes or papers. Those prices have trended over $400 for a while.

Ruger PP90DW Pistol in .45 ACP. Bluebook of Gun Values (29th Edition) indicates between $375 in 98% condition and $450 in 100% condition for this gun. I have 38 recorded prices using local and internet sources for this gun from $251 to $475 over a period of 2593 days ending September 7, 2008. The average price as of that date was $358. Current or last MSRP is $557.

The price is definitely trending upward and I would suspect the same for the stainless P90s. Here's a chart of the data.

Chris ... that would be a pretty fair price for a NIB KP90 IMHO (best I've see recently was $395) .

5wire ... I'm curious just how many different models you track with this degree of percision?

Don't you mean P90DC? Never heard of a P90DK or a P90DW...?

I have tracks on about 29 different manufacturer/model combinations, guns I've owned, currently own, or lusted after. Some tracks have a lot more data involved, some over 200 prices. Most have about 25.

I just rechecked the label on the box, it's marked "PP90DW" (corrected, above). The slide is marked P90DC, so there's opportunity for confusion here. Evidently the extra "P" indicate a "Police" or law enforcement variation of the P90, I'm not sure about the "W", I think it may have to do with the fact the gun was manufactured with Ruger emblem Hogue grips. Date of manufacture was 1992.

Here are pix of the gun after a long range session, before cleaning.

Yes the the PP90dw is the police model and you are correct one of the P's stand for police. The W stands for without case. This model comes in a cardboard box. After reading thisform I just had to call ruger and ask because I just bought this model.

Thanks for all the info on this site, Love it.

I hate it that Ruger discontinued the decockers (DC models) - those are my favorites.

yeah the decockers are good, but I don't see why they are THAT much better than the safety/decockers.
Afterall, it still does the same thing.
You just have to slide it back up after decocking instead of it being spring loaded.
Not a big deal to me.
