Met a fellow who had acquired a std model, pre-MK I.

Told him that mags would be a problem to acquire. Is this still correct?

What is one of these worth lately, possibly 1950-51 production based on a low S/N, yet it had the black logo grips. No box.

IMHO, this is a misnomer.

Before 1982ish and the introduction of the Mk II, all Ruger .22 Autos were the same mechanical design, but were divided into two groups: standard pistols with fixed sights and the Mk I with adjustable sights. Mk I is not after standard, but parallel.

If he finds any pre-Mk II mags, he needs to check which side the button is on. He needs mags with the button on the right side. Mags with left buttons can be changed by moving the button.

He can check the serial number here.

I stand corrected. I was unaware that the version with the adjustable sight was the Mk I. However, I believe that I have seen Mk Is with non-adjustable sights. Will check w/shooters at my club this weekend.
