You might want to define what you mean by "exclusive" models. Ruger made a lot of DA handguns that might be considered exclusive, like a run of Police Service Sixes and Speed Sixes that went to the Government of India and were chambered in .380 Rim (the old British 38/200 cartridge)
What you posted is a relatively recent model of the Redhawk, I can tell by the shape of the grip frame.
As contender said, if you subscribe to RENE (Red Eagle News Exchange) it comes out quarterly and gives us all the latest about Rugers and also gives us great information about past Ruger models and a lot of other info. Send an email to: [email protected] He is the editor/publisher and will give you everything you need to know about subscribing - You WILL NOT regret subscribing.
Here's a exclusive model that Ruger made for sale through Lipseys. It was called th "Royal Phoenix" and was built and finished (high polish) to compete against the Colt Python. Only 658 were made.
(The picture doesn't do it justice, I hadn't cleaned up like I should have when I took the pictures)
Ruger does not show that model on their site. I wonder if it is/was a special order by Talo, Lipsey, Davidsons, etc. I know Lipseys and Davidsons does not show it on their sites.
The full lug Redhawk was a Lipseys special run, KRH444F. Out of production for several years, so of course more desirable now. Think they stopped around the time Redhawks went to sleeve and shroud construction.
I wasn't really aware of the distributor's exclusive models until I bought my stainless steel 5 inch bbl GP100 back in 2010. It was a Davidson's model and a lot of people claim that the Distributor's exclusive models get some extra attention and I don't know if that is true or not but in the case of mine I could easily make a case for that. It has the best action and finish of any GP100 that I've owned over the years and that would amount to a half a dozen of them or so.
