I still keep both a land line and a cell phone. The last big flood we had at my work, cell phone service was overwhelmed and did not work, but land lines did. I need that security.

I could say the opposite sometimes too. I've seen power outages where my land line did not work, because my home phone requires 110v, but my cell phone did. So, although I nearly never use my home-based land line, I will continue to keep it.

Comcast internet comes with a free landline(even though it's internet based) so I kept my number when I got rid of Verizon. My mom is the only person who calls me on it and the fax function on my printer is rapidly becoming a thing of the past.

I have no "landline phone" but do use a "land-line" for DSL. It has a phone number attached to it, but couldn't tell you what it is.

I still have one at the insistence of my wife. She wants it so 911 has our address in case we ever need it and so two of her relatives that are, let's say, technologically impaired can call her on a landline. I still haven't figured out why they can't dial a phone number for a cell phone but, apparently can dial a phone number for a landline. (no explanation for that one but neither of them ever call on the cell phones). My opinion, I'd dump it in a minute because other than those two relatives (one of which I wish would never call again anyway) all we get on it are telemarketer calls...all...day...long.

Still have a land line. Don't have a cell phone. Have never had one. Don't want one, don't need one, can't use one.

I just got rid of mine two weeks ago.
When my wife paid the bill last month they took out for two months, she saw that the next day and called them and they said they would refund one month on my credit card. After a week and no refund they told her they had just started a new billing cycle and put it on that so there was no refund due.
I told them where they could stick their phone service and transferred our home phone number to my cell phone, but that gits poor reception here so I'm looking into magic jack.
We did keep internet with the phone company as they are the best out here in the woods.
