"new American"

Ever been to a citizen swearing in ceremony ? It's disgraceful ! Most need interpreters and most don't even know what State they are living in, and most don't even want to be in America, but the freebies are attractive. I once lived in a city that had a separate welfare office just for the migrants most from the South African continent. All brought over through Amnesty International in cahoots with Catholic charities.

My grandparents were immigrants and became citizens and they had to know something about our Constitution as well as know some English and be able to sign their name in it. And they would not allow my mother to speak anything other than English in front of us kids. And no displays outside the home. They wanted full and complete assimilation into the American way.

The people coming over the last 50 odd years are not the immigrants of yesteryear and offer very little and in most cases their own countries can't wait to get rid of them.

I don't. I've been mortgage free for 28 years at this point, but I've never been homeless.
I've been both mortgage free and homeless, (not at the same time of course) never been a drug addict, and as far as mentally ill, I have an ex-wife that will gladly debate that point with anyone. ;) Sometimes life can be roses or weeds. I try not to form an opinion of others untill I know for certain, how they came to be in their particular situation.

Yes, I have been. What’s disgraceful is your post about them. What a bunch of horse manure. It’s absolutely not like that at all….You, oh never mind. I’m not going to be roped into an argument with you.
+1
We tried to go to our son in laws last weekend. They wouldn't even let his family in the building for the ceremony. I'm surprised they didn't make them wear masks. we couldn't get an answer if this was Immigration policy or something Dallas county dreamed up.

Of middle eastern decent ? The muzzies are as thick as thieves in your area now, perhaps they just want to be cautions in case they get a vision from Mohamed. A word of caution, tell the daughter to be careful he doesn't try to kidnap the child and leave the country. Most of the country's over there will not recognize American law and view woman as objects to begin with.

I had a friend many years ago hooked up with an Asian muzzie she left the country with the child he spent years trying to get him back. Ran into some old green beret buddies from his army days who own a bar over there and they smuggled the kid out.

He was as happy as a little lamb to be back with daddy. Then he enrolls him in a Catholic school over here and one of the nuns ratted him out to the cops because the boy didn't have his birth certificate. Well the dicks paid a visit and had him come down to the station for an interview, they told him have a good life sir.

The next day my friend pays a visit to the head priest at the school and reads him the riot act and told him if I didn't want my boy to have a good education I'd pull him out, tell that nun to mind her own damn business.

I got a slap on the wrist from FB for suggesting the Gestapo knew how to use an ironing board and iron in a comment on a meme comparing some slob in an FBI jacket to the Gestapo.

I hear ya, if I ever told it all I'd have to write a book and use a pseudonym and lie about my educational background and economic standing because no one would ever believe it all. Society has a hard time with things if you are not educated. Most people I've met in life if they lived to 100 will never have experience or seen half the stuff I have. That's not a brag it's just how it all unfolded, but it's a life I would never care to live again. And people like yourself is why America is such a mess.

Think you are really all about something because you own a home or something, I had a brother who sounded like you. Oh yeah, another Republican, he thought I was a bum because I wasn't successful in his eyes. Another one complaining about the direction in America as he employed the wet-backs to mow the lawn.
Dude, I read your comments because I like to know what all kinds of people think. I don't think America is such a mess. I would like to live my life again, even the not-so-fun parts. I wouldn't change any of it because then I wouldn't be who I am. Not that I am necessarily wonderful, but I have learned enough to be compassionate and to do what I can for those who are less fortunate.

You seem to have some serious issues. I for one would like to read your life story, if only to be able to see what led you to where you are. I am thankful I am not there, at least not yet.

First of all, the “Catholic” school would have wanted the birth certificate BEFORE enrolling the child. They would not have called the police immediately. Nor would the police have simply said “have a nice day.” To a potential kidnapping.

Furthermore, nuns no longer teach in Catholic schools.

I was a teacher in a Catholic school.

That’s just on the surface. I call BS to the whole plot line. You write it to fit a narrative you want to sell. It’s full of holes. This, I don’t believe it.

You seem to have some serious issues.

Gun forums are a great microcosm for what really exist out here in America beyond the multicultural hype. Single issue voters, it's basically abortion rights vs. gun rights.
And if some think being Black or Hispanic and poor in America is rough, being White and poor is even worst.

And you are blamed for it because you had privilege just by the fact you were born White.
And the biggest a--holes I ever met in my life were White Republicans hiding behind patriotism and the hard work spiel.

Kevin:

I call BS to the whole plot line.

Lol, yeah no doubt, if you live with guilt you're a Catholic. :)

Now I'm all for phasing out language meant to insult someone's heritage or race or culture. There just isn't any room for that. But lately I've noticed on the television, and today I saw it in a news report. Seriously, my wife and I were watching a tv show the other day, and they must have used the word "unhoused" 5 or 6 times. It even bothered my wife, who is pretty level headed about such things.

They want to change the word "homeless" to "unhoused."

I had to look it up on Google. From what I can understand, there is no difference. In fact, the only difference seems to be, it makes the speaker or writer feel better. The word "homeless" isn't derogatory in any way. It doesn't put down the person who doesn't have a roof over their head. "Unhoused" means the same thing, it too isn't derogatory.

I guess it bothers me that I'm supposed to use some different word, just so I can sleep better at night?

Man, after reading this rant, I sure hope I'm not turning into you guys! :)
