The difference between these two sets of Ruger Security Six taget grips is Set C doesn't have the cutout for viewing the s/n as does Set B. Any thoughts on this? I plan to list these for sale soon. What is a fair market value? As always, your assistance is appreciated!

LMD,
I'll go out on a limb and say that the 2nd pair would go to guns
marked "T" Target grips. That is what I have always leaned toward!

Then again it could just be a change of manufactures or just plain change.
I have two guns with box's marked "T" Target Grips, and two guns without box's that have grips like type one you have pictured. Maybe WMG or Chet can shed further light.

The ones w/o slot might be a mfg error, I have never seen factory wraparound grips w/o slot. Even Sile aftermarket target grips (about identical to factory grips) have the slot, as do the factory-installed Pachmayr grips on the "P" models.

I would agree with WMG. Ruger wanted the sn accessible to everybody for recordkeeping purposes.
