:D I shot the rifle several more times today to acclimate myself to the recoil and handling. I named the rifle 'Wolfgang' after an old German friend of mine. It shot excellent and while recoil is stiff it is manageable. Also we got some sun this evening and I made some pictures in an effort to show off the beautiful wood. I am not much of a photographer but I think you can see the nice wood. TnTnTn

What a gorgeous rifle! Nice wood, too. You need to mount a straight-tubed German scope on it now.

Tin,

What a great looking rifle....and caliber. I was not aware Ruger chambered it in the #1.

What kind of glass are you going to mount on it?

Nice going.

Nice rifle. The 250 gr Barnes X/TSX is a sure killer in my 9.3x62's and allowed for easy 300 yard shots in Africa in 2002. I suggest you give it a try if critters larger than deer is in the plan.

Nice rifle and nice picture composition.
It's too bad Ruger didn't put a longer, heavier barrel on the rifles in this caliber (same for the 45-70); then I'd be a lot more interested in them.
