I know how you guys like pictures so here are some of the latest of my Pistol grip work.
With the exception of one set I sold to OS over on Leverguns forum, all of the ones I have made fit into my Ruger collection.
I have two more sets to make to complete the change over to all custom grips on the single actions.
Next I will have to work up patterns for my DA revolvers and then a set for my 1911.

A set for a Blackhawk made of a Moose antler shed I found while Deer hunting near Libby MT.. My first try with antler. It is quite dense and works nice. No bark left on them but that`s OK with me.

Next is a set(in progress) for my Ruger Bisley 7 1/2" .45 Colt. Curley maple figure dont realy stand out until the stain or finish goes on. Made from the same piece of wood as the next gun in this post.

This is my Ruger BlackHawk .357/9mm convertible. A sweet little piece. I may actually get around to shooting it in a week or two. (still unfired)

Maybe I will get the hang of making these after a while. For now I am just having fun learning.

Great job !!!!! A question though. How hard is antler to work into grips? I am still contemplating trying and I emphasize trying to make a set for my flattop bisley. Undecided between elk, moose or mesquite........... ;)

CMH , These are my first set of antler grips. I rough cut them out on my band saw using a regular wood cutting blade and it whipped through it like a piece of hard wood.
Course toothed files and sandpaper work it quite easily.
If I can find more antler I will be using it more but a quick search on the net shows that even shed antlers are very high priced. With a pair of nice 40"-50" Moose antlers and large Elk antlers priced in the 200-400$ range makes it way out of my reach. There is a lot of waste if all you want out of an antler is pistol grips. A person would have to find a market for the scrap pieces that wont make grip blanks to be able to bring the cost down, jewelry possibly???
Thanks for the compliments guys.
