Keep tell'n yourself that.
I pretty much do just that daily. I haven't had an occasion to open Carry the beltfed but it stays ready with a 500rnd belt if needed. I suppose anything less than a Double Buscadero rig with a dozen rounds in loops is under gunned to you. My Max 9 holds as many rounds as both of your Colts and reloads probably 100 times faster. The one target has 25yd groups 2" in 6 seconds 8" in 2 seconds. I did the 40yd drill with my hand at the gun when the timer started using Sig Crown V's. Top that with your Six Shooters. First 4 rounds were under 1 second on the 40yd drill .

That's twice as many as I have seen.
I don't see people open carrying often but I do run across it occasionally. One fellow had started a conversation with me while we were both looking for ammo at Academy. I asked him what he was carrying. It was a large FNH DA/SA .45 ACP pistol. He carried it safety off, hammer cocked with an empty chamber to make it easier for him to chamber a round & have the single action trigger.

A few months ago I saw a fellow carrying what appeared to be a striker fired pistol shoved into his waistband in the front. He crossed the street in front of my truck. The pistol was sliding out of his waistband. He grabbed the grip & shoved it back in. I couldn't see it that well. Maybe he had something like the Glock gadget covering the trigger guard or it had an external safety I couldn't see but I thought he might blow his boys off.

The last fellow I saw open carrying was carrying a full sized 1911 crossdraw.
