Just bought a Police trade in PC4. I like it. In my opnion is is just great for what it was meant to do. And like all Ruger stuff I do not think you could wear one out. However, the slide stop bugs me. In most other similar guns Mini 14, Garand, M1a even the AR15 when you open the bolt on an empty magazine the bolt is held open. But on the PC4 the slide stop must be manualy operated unless you just ran the gun dry. I guess this is simply because the magazine spring does not have enough power to lift the slide stop. My gun has not been fired much. Will this loosen up as it it shot so that it behaves AS I THINK IT SHOULD? Or is this a quirk of the design. The owners manual says this is the way it is. It just seems odd on such a otherwise good design.
