Paying cash these days.....

Help Support Ruger Forum:

Our LGS who probably has more guns than any other store in the state charges an extra 3% if you pay with a CC. He also charges $50 for a transfer when everyone else charges $25. Needless to say, I don't use a CC there or do transfers there but he can get the hard-to-find guns when nobody else can.

What is your definition of cash? I pay cash every where I go with a debit card. I carry $250 or real money for emergencies especially on the road. The good Samaritan does not always help for free.

Debit is not cash although it kind of works like cash. I have $700 in cash in my wallet right now but it won't stay there longer than it takes me to hit send on this post.

I agree with Contender above,

A large number of emergencies can be avoided if you have a vehicle that runs on gas, a pocket full of cash, and in the case of Alaska, a passport. Helene could have been avoided. Get away from it. Go somewhere safe.

BPJ, Helene could not have been avoided. It destroyed a huge area of WNC. Not just a small area where people could evacuate. The damage was in Tennessee and NC. Over a hundred miles of area.
But the way people responded and handled their own situation was very avoidable for some.
But some people were unable to do anything about what happened.
I was very prepared and did fine.
But due to the damages all around the area I could not travel for a few days and then only in one direction.
We are almost 3 months after it and we still only have limited travel routes.
But the first few weeks of the destruction cash is what was required for people to be capable of buying anything
