Pachmayr Grips

Has anyone else installed Pachmayr grips on their Ruger 1911. I did today and they feel much thicker than on any of my other 1911s. I wonder if Pachmayr has changed their design.

I like the Hogue #45090 for the built in palm swell.

Picture? Pachmayr makes lots of different grips and some are thicker than others.

From what I can tell, the newer Pachmayr grips are thicker than older models. I did have the opportunity to shoot the Ruger yesterday and they work very well. I was happier than I expected.
