P94 and P944

What is the difference between a Ruger P94 and P944? On the Ruger website when you click on the P944 and look at the picture of the blued model, it says P94 on the slide. Just wondering.

The P94 is available in both 9mm and 40 S&W. The P944 is the 40 S&W version while the 9mm is called the P94. Both are marked "P94" on the slide, however. My P944 is a 40 caliber and I was suprised that it says P94 on the slide. Confusing, yes.

Ruger discontinued the P-94 in 9mm. The only ones they make now are the P-944's in .40. There are still 9mm P-94's around though if you want one.
