50 yrs. ago my soon to be wife was diagnosed with hodgkins. radiation, chemo and removed spleen an various lymph nodes on her aorta. the most curable cancer at that time. life altering experience. it teaches you that life is short, life is precious and God is good. no matter the spill on the carpet or the scratch on the car. everyone should learn the value of real relationships and real love learned from this. but i wouldn't wish it on anybody .we have truly been blessed through the adversity. may you all continue to enjoy the blessing and gift of life

Good for you. I'm going on 18 years after losing a kidney to cancer. Keep up the good fight. 👍

I also had a kidney removed due to renal cancer. Its been a bit over 10 years and no signs of cancer so far. My surgeon wants to see me every two years now instead of every year, and said that if everything looks good at the next visit I can stop coming back totally. Each visit they do blood work, x-rays and CAT scans. I was told that if I get cancer again it likely would be in my lungs or bones, not the other kidney. I just turned 82, which is 20 years more than what my Dad got to live, and 22 years less than what my Mom made it to. Thinking that I might have another 20 years on this Earth is much less distressing than thinking I may be down to my last two or three.
