I have zero experience with the AR platform. At the end of the video something blew up. What was it? A barrel failure or something else?
Most likely the gas tube gave up. Stoner designed the platform so that the gas tube "should" fail before serious damage is done to the weapon.

Didn't know Stoner designed it that way but a smart move if so. Seems every torture test I've seen , the gas tube melts down & separates, stopping the gun, or it starts a fire & making the weapon undesirable for further use.

My hat is off to the ones that have the coin or backing to test like this. Silly it seems, but extremely informative & teaching.

Seen many of these vids and never saw the barrel go, tube always went first

all these videos I've seen were done full auto not SA which is a big difference in heating parts. Firing as many rounds as this in full auto Mil weps most often requires barrel swaps to keep them running and sometimes other Parts fail as well.

we saw a scant few magazines fired full auto not the complete 'test' where several hundred rounds were fired in a hand held, light weight weapon without a break. That's pretty damn impressive by any standard.

it's been done many times on video and it's gotten real old guys, come up with something different.
