One shoulder exposed craze

Help Support Ruger Forum:

I guess you don't know about the judges in Great Britain wear those stupid wigs when on the bench. What's the purpose of that?
You seem to be making my case for me. The wigs are a traditional badge of rank and status. They date from a time when gentlemen wore wigs (at least situationally; maybe not when foxhunting) and laborers did not.

I would not be surprised if someone who showed up in the courtroom as a spectator wearing such a wig would be removed for the cause of mocking or impersonating a judge, but that's beside the point.

Since I retired 11 years ago I have worn jeans or shorts over 99% of the time. There have only been a handful of days in those 11 years that I have put on the one suit that I still own, and those days were for funerals where conservative dress was expected. I actually have been to two funerals and two weddings where I was not expected, and nor did I do so, to wear a tie and jacket. I know my wife would like me to dress better, but I have no intention of doing so. After 49 years of full time work I now wear what I want and do not give a rat's ass about what other people think.
Heh.

Years ago a middle school/high school friend got married in a summer outdoor ceremony in Colorado. The bride's family (blue-collar Mexican-American) all wore dark suits. The groom's family (white-collar Mexican-American) and friends were more relaxed, although I think his brother wore a tie. I was not the only one of the groom's friends to show up wearing cargo shorts. I was asked to hold something during the ceremony because the officiant was a friend of the bride and a complete weirdo...

Some people have pride in the way they look. I guess you're just not one of them.

"Judge not lest ye be judged."
It sure seems to be a lot of judgement going down today. Most of it appears to be petty as hell. One doesn't like the off the shoulder look? So what? It's none of your damned business
Personally, one thing I hate is having to wear a tie for certain occasions. When I was young I almost got strangled to death by an idiot playing cowboy with some rope as a lasso. I cannot stand anything around my neck.
Beards. They come and go. I got out of the military in 1964 and have worn a beard ever since. You don't like it? Tango Sierra.
I've seen guys totally shun a beautiful girl because she has a tattoo. Some have made some pretty nasty cracks. If I get the chance I'll try to start conversation with the lady and I've met quite a few very nice young ladies that wear a tattoo..
Seems to my there's an awful lot of judging going on here and I guess I'd have to include myself. I've always believed in live and let live. some people don't.

41, folks are obviously enjoying a bit of controversy. I mean we are all withdrawing from the pre election disagreements. Complaining about fashion seems to be a safe withdrawal. You have to taper off otherwise you risk serious side effects.
I see your point. Now keep your opinion to yourself. ;) How was that?
