I've had this Ruger 6.5 Creedmoor KM77VBBZ (or Mark II Target Rifle) for a while and hadn't played with it much because of other projects and such. I finally decided it was time to see what it was capable of. I called up RCBS and had them make me a competition die set for it, got some Hornady brass, and had quite an assortment of 6.5 bullets to test out. Hornady said a powder in the 4350 burn range was perfect so I used Ramshot's Big Game which is a ball version of 4350 and it meters exceptionally well. I tried the Nosler Ballistic Tip 100 grain and Sierra Pro Hunter 120 grain today. The Sierra didn't shoot very well but the two groups below are the Nosler. The first is at 100 yards and measures .251" Center to Center. The second is at 200 yards. The scope is a junk Simmons 6-21x44 that will be replaced with a nice Leupold.

Ruger built a great rifle.

Rum, yea I'm still considering the Weaver T36 as well as the FXIII 35x.

The simmons is alright for under 200 yard shooting, it just doesn't focus well enough for 600-1000 yard shooting I'd like to do.

Most people shooting this cartridge are saying the 140s really buck the wind well, but the 120s group the best.

We have some steel targets out at 200, 250, and 300 yards and this combo was ringing the steel on every shot. It was pretty entertaining.

Very good shootin'...but doesn't surprise me as I have the same rifle....Good to see the lighterweight stuff shootin' so well as I haven't tried anything lighter than a 140 in mine so far. Bergers and AMax's over h-4350, everything came together on those first 2 loadings, and they work just the same in my All Weather Hawkeye.
I feel the round is just inherently accurate, and probably all the new tooling doesn't hurt either.
good shootin'

Well, the 140 sierras I tried (GK SBT) didn't shoot too well with the Big Game, I'm gonna try Hunter since its a little slower and gets about 100-150 more FPS.

Too bad the weather isn't cooperating anymore so who knows how long I'll have to wait to try it.
