Picked up OM BH 30 carbine sn# 50-130xx a couple of weeks ago. Was just looking at it closely for the first time and noticed a firing pin groove in the cylinder.

Looking at other Rugers in the safe only the Single Sixes have the grooves. Do all OM BH .30 carbines have this firing pin groove and if so why only the .30's?

Thanks in advace.

All OMs have this groove. It is to protect your firing pin with the hammer down. Take the cylinder out .With the hammer rested...You will understatnd. What do you see? Should be a pin :D
Are your single-sixes OMs " Firing pin groove" :D

The only other OM I have other than the single sixes is a converted .357 flattop and it doesn't have a fpg. Does this mean along with the conversion that somewhere along the line the cylinder has been changed also?

Have the parts to un-convert (or is it revert) the flattop. Now it looks like an OM cylinder will aslo be needed??
