My local shop took in an Old Vaquero (made in 2001) in .45 Colt w/.45 acp cylinder, blued with 4 5/8" barrel. It had some finish wear at the muzzle, but otherwise looked excellent. I swooped on it for $465 OTD.

I like the fact it has the color case harden frame, can handle Ruger only loads, and came with the extra cylinder.

Can anyone give me any details on this model? Anyone know if this was a limited run?
Thanks.

Finally got to pic it up.

Yes, it was a limited run for Davidson's. I don't have the numbers in front of me right now, but its published in the Reference of Ruger Firearms. Send me an email at [email protected] and I can pass on that information.

Nice find.

Be aware that the "color case" is actually a chemical coating and is somewhat prone to surface rusting. Keep it oiled or otherwise protected like a blued gun.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. The box does say limited or special edition.
My shop took in some other SAA including a 1978 5 1/2" blued Colt. Excellent condition except for the tiny brown rust type spots on the barrel. I got that for just over $800 OTD.

My box says BNV-44-X-C. Assuming this is the same one you reference above?
Thanks.
