I would like to replace the ejector rod on my old style vaquero ,with the type found on colt or the type with the crescent shaped button. Brownell sells an aftermarket ejector rod to fit my gun. Anyone know if any alteration or modification to gun is involved when replacing this part?

There shouldn't be any problems swapping ejector rods. It's an easy swap,,, just make sure you get the housing back on correctly & snug.

The Ruger New Vaquero ejector rod should work OK on your Vaquero. The aftermarket ejector rods may or may not need some "fitting" to be "slick" in your ejector rod housing.

A few years ago, I installed a Qualite Crescent head ejector rod & housing, and the head needed minor fitting.

Milt, of course, had included proper printed instructions with the rod, for fitting it - so it was a snap.
