The color version is cool, and the 90's remake is excellent, too. None beat the original, thoughAsk if they want to watch Night of the Living Dead in color.
Scared the crap out of me!The color version is cool, and the 90's remake is excellent, too. None beat the original, though
1939 Was a Golden year for movies, color or B&W!Earlier this evening I was talking to someone in his early 30's at work. I told him I watched a couple of black and white film noir movies last night and he told me that he would never watch a black and white film.
He also did not believe that Gone With The Wind and The Wizard of Oz were made in 1939 because he knows there were no color movies at that time. He claims that any movie in black and white is dull with no imagination.
I guess the world started when he came into it because nothing of any importance could have happened before he was born.
And "The Stanger".I'm an Orson Welles fan. Watch "Lady from Shanghai", " Touch of Evil", "The Third Man" and other b/w films from that era. You' re missing out if you don't.
The Searchers is in VistaVison and TechnicolorThe Searchers in color? Nope.
As a kid I remember watching a ton of Victory at Sea TV. And the music was terrific. It's surprising how many Best Picture Oscars were awarded to B&W film after color was introduced.
Agreed if it was a youngin who was family but a 30+ year old from work? I wouldn't even try to communicate other than just laugh a bit. Lifes to short to waste time on that.Remember when WE were young and stupid...?
It helps when trying to understand, or communicate with them...
It also helps the communication process if you were a wool beanie hat or hoodie indoors....

The movie In Cold Blood was okay but the book was so much better. In Cold Blood and The Last Picture Show are 2 great movies in black and white. Both are favorites of mine
Senior moment. Must have been the monotone of Monument Valley. Thanks for the catch. The Searchers is in VistaVison and Technicolor
