I'm helping a friend with her late husband's guns. There's a Super Blackhawk, unconverted, with a serial number of 28xx. Is this a first year gun? It has a set of pretty nice old stag grips but I haven't been able to find the original ones. If it was reblued, whoever did it was an expert at not screwing up the lettering when they polished it.

Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, second year production of 1960.

The grips will be the black eagle variation, and it would have most likely shipped in a mahogany box.

That does NOT look like it's been re-blued to me.
Hopefully, one of our experts will offer up a $ value so you can help the widow. I have no knowledge, but would venture a guess at
$850.47
