Old jungle knife

I think it may have come from an Army Navy store many years ago. Looks like a holster for a pistol sort of if you just glanced at it.

I bet a SAA 4 3/4 will fit right in that holster.

I believe it is a folding machete, that was issue to pilots etc for survival in case they had to ditch.

That's correct. The blade folds back into the handle and edge shield.
The edge shield is removable to facilitate use. Army Airforce pilots
in WWII were issued these.
