What is the comparable value of a stainless Old Army to an older Ruger #1 B in 22-250? The condition of both guns is excellent, the Old Army has little signs of wear, the #1 has a little bluing loss on near the end of the barrel, has the red recoil pad and it has a set of rings (I'm keeping my Leupold scope). I am considering trading or selling one of these for either another #1 in 30-06 or a nice bolt gun before next hunting season. I don't use the Old Army much, but when I do it is a lot of fun. I have only used the #1 on 2 prairie dog hunts but hate to get rid of also. based on what I paid for each the values should be pretty close but I really don't know.

I am not an expert by no means but my opinion is that the #1 would be worth 150 to 200 dollars more than an Old Army. Most OA revolvers sell for the 350 to 500 range and most #1's sell for 500 to over 1000. I have the same #1 but I am wanting an Old Army something fierce but have my eggs in too many baskets at the moment. :)

Thanks,
I don't like getting rid of any firearms if I can help it. Probably nearly 1/2 of the one's I have sold or traded over the years I regret doing so. I looked for a long time before I ran into my Old Army. (I got it for $350 which included a holster, several boxes of balls, a couple tins of caps and 3 or 4 cans of various grades of black powder) Maybe I will eventually run into someone that wants to trade their #1 or bolt gun for my #1 in 22-250.

As an alternative, I will start saving and looking for a good #1 in 30-06. Was there ever a #1 chambered in 300 Savage offered by Ruger?

Neither the #1 nor the #3 has ever been chambered in the 300 Savage by the factory.

What is the configuration of your #1 22-250 and it's serial number and what configuration of 30-06 are you looking for?
